This account provides a brief overview of the history of the Indian Army. A more comprehensive narrative would take many volumes. It is hoped that this book will encourage the reader to delve more extensively into the subject.

The Indian Army is truly representative of the composition of the Nation, and showcases the secular nature and integration of its people.

This book is Hindi edition of “The Indian Army: A Brief History”. Its captures the ethos, culture and values of the Indian Army in war and peace through the ages. The contributors are all senior Indian Army officers
