Prof Nirmala Joshi ,Research Advisor, USI participated in the
"Herat Security Dialogue III” 

The Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) hosted the “Herat Security Dialogue III (HSD)” on 27-28 September 2014 in Herat, Afghanistan. It was attended by government officials, international organization delegates, legislators, academic experts, distinguished journalists, media and civil society representatives from Afghanistan, the region and wider international community. Prof Nirmala Joshi from the USI attended and presented a paper on “Afghanistan: India’s Gateway to Central Asia”.

The main aim was to provide a forum where different stakeholders could participate and discuss normative and cross-cultural issues and derive different approaches and perspectives aimed at building confidence and identifying practical & broader security cooperation at different levels.
