The United Service Institution of India (USI) in collaboration with Bombay Engineer Group and Centre (BEG) Pune, organised the first "Lieutenant General P S Bhagat Memorial Lecture" on "Legacy of Lt Gen Prem Bhagat- A Visionary and Strategic Leader" on June 14, 2023, at the Manekshaw Centre.

The Introductory Remarks were given by Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Director General, United Service Institution (USI). He gave a brief insight about the life of Lt Gen Premindra Singh Bhagat and his vision, valour and leadership qualities. General Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC and the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), mentioned that the charisma of Lt Gen Bhagat has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the history of the Indian Army.  He further outlined him as a young second lieutenant, who was honoured with Victoria Cross in World War II. General VP Malik, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Former COAS delivered a keynote address during the lecture, in which he gave many anecdotes from the life of Lt Gen Bhagat from being an fun loving person to a prolific writer, and brave and inspiring soldier.
