NOTES

General. Both serving and retired officers, as per the eligibility criteria given in Para 2 below, and cadets from Defence Service Academies are eligible. Membership is granted exclusively to eligible individuals and does not extend to dependents. The USI reserves the right to accept or reject applications.

Subscription Rates.

Note – Facilities for Life and Ordinary members are same. Grace period of two months from date of expiring of membership for Life Member and upto 31 May for Ordinary Member is allowed for renewal at prevailing rate. Thereafter, entrance fee is to be paid again. No notice is sent for renewal. For conversion from Ordinary to Life Membership only the entrance fee portion will be adjusted. Course Membership is not renewable and is valid for one course only.

Issue of Membership card: Digital membership card through Email ID and Physical Membership card shall be issued, along with proof of identity. Member's personal visit is necessary to sign the membership register.
USI Journal. Published digitally every quarter; it can be accessed on our website www.usiofindia.org.
Lectures. Programme of lectures / seminars is posted on the Web Site. All members are eligible to attend.

SPECIAL CIVILIAN MEMBERSHIP — ELIGIBILITY (CRITERIA)

Eligibility. Persons who have distinguished themselves in any field, specially in the field of National / International Security, economics, history and so on are eligible to be enrolled as Special Member (Civilian).
Duration. Duration of such membership is 10 years, and renewable thereafter as per terms and conditions as applicable then. Application Form Fee is Rs. 200/- each, which will not be refunded in any circumstances.

Membership Fee. Special Member (Civilian) – Valid for 10 Years from Date of Membership.

Note:

After payment of the application fee, the application form will be rendered for filling in personal details and submitting the application to USI for approval.
After approval by the Governing Council, the applicant will be informed for payment of membership fee of Rs. 30,000/- (for 10 years).
When payment is received, the applicant will be allotted a membership number and issued the membership card.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP — ELIGIBILITY (CRITERIA)

Eligibility. Vice Chancellors, Heads of Department of Defence Studies of Universities, military correspondents of Indian newspapers / news agencies, and other distinguished persons associated with the field of national security and related subjects, academicians, research fellows and media persons are eligible to be enrolled as Associate Members.
Voting Rights. Associate Member will neither be eligible to stand for elections to the USI Council nor have voting rights.

Corporate Membership — Please Read Before You Apply

DETAILS OF USI CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility. Any reputed organization, firm or diplomatic mission based in India can apply for Corporate Membership. Membership would be for a maximum of five nominated officers of the organisation applying for Corporate Membership.
Duration. Membership will be either for one year or for three years commencing 01 Jan of that particular year.
Privileges.
- Entitled to concessional rates for accommodation, restaurant and banquet facilities.
- Complimentary copy of USI Journal.
- Invited to attend USI Events (Talks / Seminars).
- Use of well-stocked Library.
- Free full-page colour advertisement in USI Strategic Year Book (the organization giving the advertisement will be given a complimentary copy of the Year Book).
- Priority booking of USI Auditorium and Conference / Seminar Rooms.
- Event-based social interaction with USI Council and Management.
- Sponsorship of events at USI on an as-required basis, for which terms / conditions will be mutually agreed upon.

Membership Fee. Non-refundable one-time fee for a maximum of five members of the organisation applying for Corporate Membership will be as under:
