IAPTC: The USI-CUNPK is a member of the
International Association of Peacekeeping Training
Centres (IAPTC). During the 10th IAPTC Conference at
Accra, Ghana, India was unanimously elected to host the
11th IAPTC Conference at the USI-CUNPK. The event was
scheduled from 24-28 October 2005 at New Delhi under the
aegis of USI-CUNPK, showcasing the theme: 'Training for
Peace: Cooperation and Coordination'.
At the Conference, CUNPK was handed the IAPTC
Presidency. The IAPTC Secretariat too was handed over to
CUNPK by Pearson Peacekeeping Centre, Canada who had
held the same since 1995. India (CUNPK) has become the
first country/institution to take over the Secretariat
from Canada. At the 12th IAPTC Conference, the
Presidency was handed to Chile. Please see

STM Project: The USI-CUNPK is one of
the 20 partners in the Standard Training Module (STM)
Project, a training initiative by the Integrated
Training Service (ITS) at the United Nations Department
of Peacekeeping Operations (UNDPKO).
Challenges Project:
The Challenges of Peace Operations Project, which began
in 1997, is a joint effort by Partner Organizations
from
14 leading peace operations countries. The overall
purpose of the Challenges Project is to contribute to
the enhancement of the international community's
capability to conduct current and future peace
operations. It aims to achieve this by fostering and
encouraging a culture of cross-professional cooperation
and partnership and to generate practical
recommendations that will benefit the effectiveness and
legitimacy of multinational and multidisciplinary peace
operations. The USI-CUNPK is a partner in the
Challenges Project initiative coordinated by the Folke

UNITAR:
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research
(UNITAR) was established in 1965 as an autonomous body
within the
United Nations with the purpose of enhancing the
effectiveness of the Organization through appropriate
training and research. The USI-CUNPK is a partner in
the
UNITAR Programme of Correspondence Instruction in

Other Bilateral and Multilateral Activities:
The Centre regularly conducts joint workshops, seminars,
working group discussions and exercises with other international
institutions active in this field such as Center
for International Peace Operations(ZIF), Germany with
which the Centre recently concluded a workshop on "Asian,
European and African Policies, Practices and Lessons
Learned in Peace Operations in Africa". The Centre
also has ongoing instructor exchange programmes with
other
Peacekeeping
Training Centres of the world such as ADF PKC, Australia
and PSTC, Canada.
