USI CENTRE FOR STRATEGIC STUDIES AND SIMULATION
FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 2009-2011

 

 

The USI-CS3 would like to invite applications for the Fellowship Programme commencing wef 01 July 2009 for the following:-
 

(a) Senior Fellow
(b) Research Fellow
(c) Associate Research Fellow
(d) Research Associate.

It may please be noted that the duration of the Fellowship Programme will be one to two years.

 Fellows come from a variety of professional backgrounds and from early, middle, and late stages of their careers. Categorisation of applicants for different fellowships will be the discretion of the Selection Committee.

The following examples suggest the range of eligible candidates:

  •  

Governmental and nongovernmental practitioners in national/international security and regional studies.
 

  •  

Scholars and researchers, such as college and university researchers and  professors, policy analysts in governmental or nongovernmental research organizations.
 

  •  

Media and communications specialists

For the Services - Applications are required for two categories ie for Senior Fellows from officers of the rank of Colonel or equivalent and above and for Research Fellows, Lt Colonel or equivalent and below.

For Others - Applications are invited in all posts.

Applicants are free to select any of the subjects from the list of topics at Appendix A. However, in order to build specific expertise in important areas of security concerns, preference will be given to studies in the following areas:-
 

(a)    Energy Security
(b) Maritime Security
(c) Developments in Central Asia
(d) Terrorism in India – Internal and External Linkages
(e) Understanding Internal Security Dynamics in India/South Asia and Its Impact on Regional Balance
(f) Strategic Engagement: A Policy Framework
(g) Critical Military Technology
(h) Developments in China and Pakistan

Guidelines for Submission of Research Proposals

2. The broad guidelines for submission of research proposals are included at Appendix B.. Service officers have to forward suitable research proposals together with recommendations for Senior Fellows and Research Fellows for the fellowship programme 2009-2011 thorough the proper channel. Other scholars may submit their proposals directly – either in person, by mail or through email to cs3@usiofindia.org

3. We would very much appreciate receiving the names and subjects for Fellowship Programme, together with recommendations, by 30 April 2009 at the latest.
